Exciting Volunteer Opportunity:
This
Wednesday, January 29th we will be hosting a training session for anyone who wishes to
volunteer at the Windsor Spitfires home games at the WFCU Centre.
Life After Fifty (LAF) is happy to support the Windsor Spitfires by providing approximately 20 volunteers (to be ushers and ticket takers) for each home game and then in return, a portion of the ticket proceeds go to LAF to support our programming.
The season is currently part way through, as it began in September and will end in March. The home games occur at the WFCU Centre on Thursday evenings, some Sunday afternoon games and the odd Saturday evening game. Our volunteers are expected to show up approximately 2 hours before the game and we are the last to leave the arena.
Everyone who wishes to volunteer will be required to attend a training session that is provided by the Windsor Spitfires in order to help you learn about the safety rules in the arena. Volunteers will not be able to volunteer at the games until they have completed this required training. We will record your availability and email out a schedule of assigned posts for each game earlier in the week. Volunteers are provided with uniform shirts and follow a simple dress code of black pants/shoes/turtlenecks.
So if you like hockey and enjoy the hockey experience, you are interested in supporting Life After Fifty by getting involved in the community, and you are able to volunteer some of your time, we would definitely like you to be part of the team!
If you are interested in this rewarding and enjoyable volunteer opportunity, please examine your schedules this
Wednesday, January 29th, from 7-9 pm. The Windsor Spitfire volunteer training session will be hosted at the
Life After Fifty East Side Centre in the program room. (The Life After Fifty East Side Centre is located in the WFCU Centre at 8787 McHugh St. You can access the LAF Centre through the Community Centres entrance.)
Registration is not required.
