Gathering Aimed at Celebrating a New Chapter at Centres of Seniors Windsor

The Centres for Seniors Windsor has been enriching the lives of older adults in the community through recreational, educational, social programs and support services since it opened its doors at two locations on the city's east and west sides. On Friday, October 18th, the Centre will be announcing a brand new name and logo at a community event and the public is invited to attend.

Stacy Adams, Board President at the Centre calls the name change a necessary step if it is to continue to attract new members.

"Our research demonstrates that the term "senior" could be a deterrent to many of the Baby Boomers in the community who, though the age on their birth certificate may say so, don't feel like they're senior," says Shanahan. "Hence, we deemed it necessary to take a look at how we present ourselves to our community and, therefore, a name change."

The agenda will include opening remarks from MPP Teresa Piruzza & City Councillor Ed Sleiman followed by the formal announcement of the new organization’s new name by Stacy Adams, President of the Centres for Seniors Windsor Board of Directors.
