Life After Fifty will be CLOSED on Wednesday, February 5th due to Inclement Weather
 
Windsor, ON – Due to current weather conditions in the Windsor area, the Life After Fifty (LAF) East Side Centre (located in the WFCU Centre) and the LAF West Side Centre (located at Wyandotte & Campbell) announced today that they will be closed for the full business day and will not be open to the public on Wednesday, February 5th. 2014.  
 
The Weather Network announced a Snowfall Warning for Southern Ontario and the Windsor area, which is still in effect.
 
“The safety of our members, staff and the general public is our first priority,” said Life After Fifty Manager of Communication & Development, Caitlin Shanahan. 

Life After Fifty will re-open on Thursday, February 6th at 8:30am. 
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. 

 

This Wednesday, January 29th we will be hosting a training session for anyone who wishes to volunteer at the Windsor Spitfires home games at the WFCU Centre. 
 
Life After Fifty (LAF) is happy to support the Windsor Spitfires by providing approximately 20 volunteers (to be ushers and ticket takers) for each home game and then in return, a portion of the ticket proceeds go to LAF to support our programming.
 
The season is currently part way through, as it began in September and will end in March. The home games occur at the WFCU Centre on Thursday evenings, some Sunday afternoon games and the odd Saturday evening game.  Our volunteers are expected to show up approximately 2 hours before the game and we are the last to leave the arena. 
 
Everyone who wishes to volunteer will be required to attend a training session that is provided by the Windsor Spitfires in order to help you learn about the safety rules in the arena. Volunteers will not be able to volunteer at the games until they have completed this required training.
